It’s finished! After an hour and a half of soldering, patina-ing and waxing, the stained glass is done!
It hasn’t been patina-ed or waxed in the above picture, but you get the idea. It was an extremely fun and difficult project and I’m so glad Connor and I attempted it. I highly recommend it! My favorite part was the soldering. It was also the most intimidating. I was so afraid I’d mess it up, but our teacher reminded me, if I do mess it up, I can melt it and start again. Also, I realized, the imperfections are what make the piece the most original. It is definitely something that I can look at and remember the summer Connor was 10 years old.

I’m super excited… Connor and I are leaving tomorrow to go visit my sister and her family, who live 6 hours away. Rob is working, so he won’t be traveling with us unfortunately. 🙁 I haven’t seen my sister and the fam since January, so this is a long overdue trip. And, in two weeks, they’ll be here!!! The twins will be 5 in a few days. I can’t believe that! Time goes by way too fast!
Until next time…
