Hello… me, again!
Wanted to share a couple “new to me” dieting tips:
- Share a meal with your mother! Every other Friday night I go out to eat with my parents after a drop my son off for a weekend with his dad. Last night, we decided to eat at Colton’s. Mom and I both didn’t want to eat a whole lot and totally ruin our diets, so we went back to the old stand by of sharing a plate. We ordered the Mesquite Grilled Chicken with rice pilaf and a side of steamed vegetables. We halved it and it was the perfect sized portions! And, according to http://www.myfooddiary.com/ , the total meal (which included just 1 of their FABULOUS rolls with a smidgen of butter) was ONLY 451 calories!!!
- Skinny Caramel Lattes! I absolutely love, love, love Starbucks coffee! If there was a location where I live I would go through the drive-thru at least once a day. Usually I get a tall Caramel Mocha, which is roughly 300 calories. Today, I needed to take a small road trip to North Little Rock and stopped at the nearest Starbucks. Instead of a 300 calorie Caramel Mocha, I ordered a Skinny Caramel Latte with a squirt of chocolate: 115 calories!! (90 for the latte, 25 for the chocolate) It consists of non-fat milk and sugar-free caramel, so I was extremely concerned about how it would taste. I worried for nothing and I now have a new favorite drink!!
- Weigh first thing in the morning! I have found that I prefer weighing myself second thing after I wake up in the morning right before getting in the shower (first thing would be emptying the bladder. sorry.) and without clothes. It’s amazing how much clothes and fluid weigh and how much you weigh without either of them! (Sorry, a little graphic. My mother would be embarrassed)
I know these are not new revelations to everyone, but they are to me and in the past two weeks, I’ve lost 5.8 lbs!
Do you have some interesting/unusual/”nothing new” diet tips? Please send me a comment! I’d love to hear about them!
Until next time…Happy Blogging!
