I’ve been LOL’ing for the last few days after finding the Days of the Year and Zany Holidays websites. There’s a “Day” in honor of EVERYTHING!
Did you know that tomorrow is Drinking Straw Day? Me, either.
There’s even a greeting card to celebrate it!
Apparently, January 3rdis recognized each year as Drinking Straw Day because on this day back in 1888, the first modern drinking straw was patented by Marvin C. Stone.
Wikipedia says Stone invented the drinking straw because people were using “natural rye grass straws, which were undesirable because they imparted a grassy flavor in beverages.” Well, duh! You use grass as a straw, your drink is going to taste like grass.
