I mentioned yesterday that I was going to an exercise/nutrition class at Discovery Church.  It was held last night and was led by Ashley Campbell.  It was a fantastic experience!  Several years ago she made a living as a personal trainer/nutritionist, but life circumstances kind of took her in another direction.  She’s now getting back into the business and wanted to help her fellow church-going ladies get fit physically and spiritually in the process.

Here is Ashley’s info if you live in the area and are needing a personal trainer…

She really worked us girls on the basics and taught us some new moves.  After a few warm up/stretching exercises, we immediately moved into Planks… the dreaded PLANKS!  If you don’t know what planks are… take a look this video…

They are intense.  I don’t enjoy them at all.  I know they work your core, but my mid-section is not strong enough right now to handle more than 5 or 10 seconds in that position.  I usually switch to a modified plank (on my knees) shortly after getting on the floor.  I really need to work on my core strength.
The class is meeting again next Thursday night.  I’m excited to go back.

For exercise beginners, I found this very handy guide on Pinterest…

Seems pretty simple…  I plan to start on it this weekend and see how it goes.  Here’s my weight from this morning…

I didn’t gain or lose compared to yesterday.  I like to weigh first thing in the morning right before I get in the shower.  I seem to weigh less at that time of the day! J
On a side note…
Tomorrow is “Recipe Saturday”.  I’m declaring January soup month because everyone loves a warm bowl of soup during this time of year… I’m going to post several recipes for Baked Potato Soup tomorrow (there’s also a random one for Chicken Tortilla Soup)… Enjoy!

Have a great Friday night everyone!
Go Hogs!  Beat Kansas State!

Until next time…
Happy Blogging!
