…for the Little Rock Half Marathon.
Only 44 days to go!
I’ve made some of the most important decisions…
…including what I’m going to wear.
I’m a big fan of running skirts. I’ve worn this particular skirt the last two years…
This year, I’m planning to wear this one I just bought…
…both were purchased HERE. I haven’t decided what top to wear, though. I have some ideas.
Each year, I go out and buy new running shoes. Last year, my husband picked out my shoes and although they were super cute, they turned out to be super uncomfortable for a long race.
So, this year, I went to the local running store and got on their treadmill to be “analyzed” to find the perfect shoe.
This is what I ended up with…

I never thought I’d wear New Balance. I’ve worn Nike and Adidas, but never New Balance. I really like them! They are very light-weight, breathable and easy to move in. I highly recommend them!
I also wear these during half marathons…
I tend to get shin splints and these are great at preventing them! They also help cut down on the soreness post race.
I’ll be wearing a different kind of socks this year, hopefully to guard against the blisters. I don’t like blisters.

My mom actually purchased these for my dad who walks on his treadmill 3 or 4 times a day. He didn’t really like them, so I ended up with them. We’ll see how they work during a long distance race.
Last year, I had this hat made…
I’m not sure, yet, if I’ll wear it again this year. My hair is pretty short right now. I’m letting it grow out a little, but if I can’t get it into a decent looking ponytail, I’m going to go without the hat. It would just look goofy. I’m going to look terrible by the time I get to the finish line anyway, but I’d rather avoid goofy.
I’m hoping it’s not cold on March 3rd. If so, I’ll have to wear my jacket and probably my compression capris. Both will totally take away from my fashionable half marathon ensemble! Because, you know… the fashion is the most important part of a 13.1 mile race!
Until next time…
Happy Blogging!
