I actually completed this project a couple weeks ago, but I’m just now getting around to blogging about it!
I saw this pin on Pinterest and thought I’d try it…
(Click HERE for a link to the site for the lotion above)
My feet are extremely dry this time of year and I haven’t wanted to shell out the dough to go get a pedicure, so I needed something to fix my rough toes and heels before I start wearing sandals and flip flops. This is the perfect, inexpensive answer!
Here are the ingredients:
Coconut Oil in a solid form – purchased at Wal-Mart for $10
Vitamin E Cream – purchased at Dollar General for $3.75
Baby Lotion – purchased at Dollar General for $1.50
The container on the far right is one I used for another project. I use it here, but ignore it. I’ll tell you why in a minute.
First, dump the entire contents of each ingredient in a bowl. You should microwave the Coconut Oil for about 45 seconds to make it soft, but not completely liquid.
Next, take an electric hand-mixer and mix away! I heated my coconut oil too long and it made the lotion a weird consistency, so try not to do that! If you do end up with it too watery, you’ll have to put the finished product into the refrigerator to harden.
Once the lotion is thoroughly mixed up, use a funnel to spoon the pink mixture into a container. I first put mine in this pump bottle, but the lotion was too thick to pump out.
So, I transferred it to the empty Vitamin E Cream jar, which was the perfect size. (You can see the liquid Coconut Oil floating on the top)
I use my new lotion every night on my rough, dry feet. I slather it on and then put on socks. My tootsies are nice and soft in the mornings and it lasts all day! Plus, it smells good!
This weekend we’re going to work on our mirror project! I can’t wait!
Until next time…
Happy Blogging!
