That was a little longer “break” than I had planned and to all my readers (all 2 of you), I sincerely apologize! My posts definitely won’t be every day like they were last year, but I hope to be more committed to this blog than I have been over the last month.
With that said… here’s our next “Getting Crafty…” project preview!

We’ve decided to work a little bit on the outside of our humble abode in preparation for warmer months.
Currently, this is what our back patio looks like…
Pretty blah, right?
We’ve had that table and chairs set for nearly as long as we’ve been married and I think we’ve only used it for entertaining purposes twice. We’ve used the table several times for painting various things or displaying items during a garage sale, but other than that, it’s nearly useless to us.
We love to grill (although we haven’t in a while because we don’t have a grill right now. We tossed the old one because it was rusted and was starting to flake off on our food… Yuck!), but I can’t stand to eat outside… there is a horrible fly problem in Oklahoma. I hate flies.
So, I want something back there that is more functional for us as a family. I love the idea of conversation settings… so I thought a living room type area outside would be nice.
Something like this…
…but something we could build ourselves.
These great sets are made from recycled pallets…
…however, we hate pallets. They are impossible to dismantle, especially if you don’t have the right tools. So, new wood is the way to go for us.
We’re still trying to find the perfect DIY plans to create our vision. Who knows what we’ll come up with, but I can’t wait to get started!
Until next time…
