Wow! Has this been a week?!
It started off with a pretty intense soccer game on Sunday. The team we played already had a vendetta against our boys because we tied them the last time we played. It was rumored that their players were going to stomp on our players’ toes and all sorts of things, but I really didn’t think they would go so far as to be incredibly aggressive and dangerous towards our goalie…who just so happens to be my son! The Kid got railroaded 3 separate times during the game. The second time should have been a penalty… The Kid blocked a shot, but the player landed on top of him completely inside the goal preventing him from stopping the rebound and the ball went in. Instead of calling it “goalie interference” or “roughing the goalie”, the referee called it a goal! Imagine our shock and dismay! The Kid and the other player were slow to get up and I was worried my child was injured. Fortunately, he wasn’t. I don’t typically yell at these games, I try to keep my emotions in check, but that call brought out the meanest Soccer Mom you’ll ever see in me! The Kid calmly approached the referee after the game (which we lost 2-1) to ask about the call and the ref told him to “get away from me”! Wow! Where’s a Field Marshal when you need one?
The Kid has one more game tomorrow (unless it rains) and then he’s done with the Traveling Recreational League…onto high school next year (WHAT?!?!).
Now, for my 5 favorites of the week…
Favorite Fashion:
I am from the South and we Southerners love anything monogrammed! I found this adorable shop on Etsy yesterday… it’s called “Sew Southern Stitchery” and they make these…
I must have one!!! I look the sweatshirt/pearls look! Click HERE to visit their Etsy shop.
Favorite Blog Post:
I typically highlight a blog for this section, but I’m going to take this opportunity once again to wish The Hubs happy birthday!
Click HERE to see the rest of that story.
Favorite Instagram:
It’s no secret that I follow a lot of celebrities on Instagram. I love the little glimpses into their everyday “normal” lives. I’ve never really watched the show “Gossip Girls”… only caught them in reruns every now and then, but Kelly Rutherford (who played Lily on the hit show) posted this gorgeous picture on her Instagram feed the other day…
I’m a sucker for cows! Especially “kissing” cows!
Favorite Song:
This one by Hillsong United…
I’ve always loved this song… I really hope to have the opportunity to sing it some day at church. How cool would that be?
Favorite Recipe:
As you know, I’m still on the liquid diet through July. I made the most amazing Creamy Tomato Tortellini Soup on Monday. Click HERE to read all about it.
Make sure you save some to eat on for a couple days…it gets even better!
As usual, I’m linking up with these great gals!
I hope you all have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day Weekend!
Until next time…
Happy Blogging!

Thanks for commenting! I’ll tell The Hubs 🙂 That sweatshirt is great, isn’t it?!
Yep, I’m almost halfway through 2 solid months of the liquid diet (I had hiatal hernia surgery 3 weeks ago). I definitely have a new appreciation for soups, but I’m looking forward to July 1st when I can eat some meat!
Happy Birthday to your hubby!!! Also love the sweatshirt and the song! Oceans is my fave by Hillsong 🙂
Thanks! I will pass it on to The Hubs! I love Oceans, too…such a powerful song! Have you listened to “Like an Avalanche”? That whole album is amazing!
