To wrap up this crazy week, here is a look at my 5 Friday Favorites…

The Razorbacks have their first game tomorrow at Auburn.  I’m anticipating a winning season for my Hogs!  If I get to go to a game this year, maybe I’ll wear this…

Of course, I picked a photo with a bull terrier…isn’t he just precious?!?!  This instagramer is all bull terrier all the time!  Keep tabs on the adorable doggy by clicking HERE.

Favorite Pin:
I’ve been debating creating my own business cards for a while now to advertise my freelance copy-editing/proofreading hobby that I would like to turn into a career.  I’ve tossed around the idea of going through Vista Print, but I don’t feel like I need hundreds and hundreds of cards that are just going to collect dust. I found this on Pinterest yesterday and thought it was worth a second look…

The tutorial looks kind of involved…I’m going to have to set aside some time to attempt to make these… I’ll let you know how it goes!  Click HERE to see the pin on Pinterest.

Favorite Recipe:
This one I made earlier this week…

Throwback Thursday…

About this time, back in 2008, Rob and I had our engagement photos taken in historic downtown St. Charles, Missouri.

Actually, the photographer was me!  I brought along my trusty tri-pod, used the timer, framed up the shots and ran to be in the pictures!  It was quite comical.  Thankfully, the area wasn’t extremely busy!  Here is one of my favorite shots (unfortunately, it turned out a little blurry, but I still like it!)…

I didn’t realize until I sat down to edit these photos that the camera had focused in on the leaves in the background.  So sad!  Oh well, that’s what I get for trying to be my own portrait taker!  The up side to me taking our engagement photos…they were FREE!

As promised, I came back with two of The Kid’s favorite recipes from my mother. Tonight I made “Jane’s Chip Casserole”…

Chip Casserole

Chip Casserole

Ingredients:
1 pound ground chuck (browned and drained)
1 can cream of chicken soup
Shredded cheese (I used Cheddar)
Chunky Salsa
Tortilla chips

Directions:
1. Brown the ground chuck and drain off the grease/fat.
2. Add the cream of chicken soup, a handful of cheese and some salsa.
Chip Casserole
3. Stir and let simmer for 5 – 10 minutes.
Chip Casserole
4. Crush some chips to line the bottom of a greased 9×9 casserole dish.
5. Pour the meat mixture over the chips.
Chip Casserole
6. Add more crushed chips to the top.
Chip Casserole
7. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 – 45 minutes until the chips are lightly toasted.

This is definitely teenager approved!  I know, I forgot the broccoli!  Oops!

Reunited and it feels so good…

We had such a great weekend back in Arkansas for my 20 year high school reunion. The event was so amazing! The Screaming Mimes performed and they ROCKED!! The Screaming Mimes is made up of 3 guys in our graduating class and one that was older. They started playing together back in the early 90’s and even opened for Hootie and the Blowfish!. They’ve gotten back together for a few special shows over the years and we were so excited that they agreed to play at the reunion (3 of the 4 members would already be there anyway). Here’s a little snippet of one of my favorite songs entitled “Stick O Butter”…

I totally failed in the picture taking department…I was having way too much fun socializing. Here is one taken by a classmate/friend…
SHS Class of '94 Reunion
And here is a group shot taken by The Hubs…
SHS Class of '94 Reunion
There were about 70 in attendance, including significant others/spouses. A lot were missed. I’m hoping for a 25 year get-together instead of waiting 10 years to see these guys again. If you don’t typically attend your reunions, do it! You’ll regret it if you don’t!

SHS Class of ’94, why say more?!

On a side note… Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel nail polish is an epic fail for me. I’m not even going to bother finishing the 2 week test. This is what my nails look like after only 5 days…

Now, let’s see if it’s as easy to remove as the company claims!

Until next time…
