The weather was amazing again this weekend, so we took advantage Saturday by taking a road trip about 2 ½ hours east of home to Greenleaf State Park.

This beautiful Oklahoma State Park boasts 3 hiking trails… a 1.5 mile paved trail with views of the Arkansas River, a 1 mile hike through the woods and the Greenleaf Lake Hiking Trail, which is 18 miles long! We chose to do the Southern portion of the Greenleaf Hiking Trail, which was only about 7 miles out and back. The scenery was fantastic!

The bull terriers had the most fun. It has been several months since we’ve been on a hike and this was the perfect place!

We stopped on this dam to eat lunch and explore. The Kid had fun climbing on the rocks.

This is what we were searching for…our turn around point.

A swinging bridge! And let me tell you…this thing really swings! Especially when The Kid is jumping up and down on it…

Poor puppies! They didn’t quite know what to make of it…

After we got back, The Hubs and I headed to our new favorite restaurant, The Big Easy, to reflect on the day and eat some amazing Cajun food! Here’s my Chicken Creole…
