On Friday, we loaded up the Flex and took The Kid to Arkansas to spend spring break with his dad. I didn’t get much sleep the night before, so the journey seemed extra long! We stopped several times to give the puppies some out-of-the-vehicle, leg-stretching time, but the stops were quick due to the rain and our puppies aversion to wet precipitation. Our poor bullies, this was our view while we were stopped eating dinner in the Wendy’s parking lot…

I love not having to crate them in the car, but they would much rather be sitting in our laps!

Saturday morning, The Hubs and I ate at our favorite breakfast restaurant, Cattleman’s. I had this…

I love their bacon, egg and cheese sandwiched and their hash browns are the best! The Hubs had an omelet and, as always, we ended up with one of these…

…and it can’t be a roll around the edge, it must come from the center! They are so incredibly delicious!

After breakfast, we stopped by Best Buy to look at and purchase a new laptop. My other died a nasty death (possibly at my hands) earlier this week. Never will I again purchase a Sony touch screen computer. That thing was possessed from the moment we brought it home 2 years ago. This is the one we picked out…

I’ve never had an HP before, I’m so excited!!

Later that afternoon, The Hubs headed to the airport to take a weekend trip back home to see his folks…which left just me and the bullies! I ventured into town for a little pampering at my favorite nail salon. These folks are so talented! I took this picture I found on Pinterest…

I love French/American manicures and I thought this ombre effect was super cool! And, for a few dollars more than a normal gel manicure, I walked out of the salon with these…

Ummm…wait, what?? Close, but no cigar peeps. I didn’t think it was going well, but I trusted the lady, hoping she knew what she was doing. After she was finished, she apologized profusely saying that it was very difficult to do the ombre effect with gel polish. I wish she had told me that beforehand… I would have definitely picked something else! I guess I’ll endure it for a couple weeks while I save my pennies to have something else done. If you see me, please don’t make fun!

After that traumatizing experience, I went home to love on my bull terriers and catch up on all the Real Housewives of Wherever drama before calling it a night.

Yesterday morning, I went to church by myself, which is kind of a weird feeling! Then, I pulled myself out of a nap and headed here…
Gym
I spent 60 minutes on the treadmill and wogged (my word for the combination of walking and jogging) 3.35 miles. That’s not very far in an hour, I know…I’m slowly trying to get back into the swing of things.  I jogged more than I typically do, which is a big deal for me.  I despise running on a treadmill…to me, it’s one of the most unnatural feelings in the world!  I only have 250 days left to train for the Route 66 Half Marathon in November!

I filled the rest of my Sunday playing with the bull terriers and doing laundry. What a productive day!

Today, work and a wog around the lake with one of my best friends…that’s all I could handle for a Monday! I can’t wait for The Hubs to come home tomorrow!

How was your weekend?
