It’s so hard to believe that it is nearly Thanksgiving. Seems like just yesterday we were ringing in 2015. This year has flown by so fast and now it’s time to start celebrating the holidays!

This year, for the first time, I’m cooking Thanksgiving Dinner for my family. We aren’t traveling this year and The Kid gets to stay home, so I thought I’d do it up right for the three of us!

So far, here is what I have planned for the Fell Thanksgiving Feast:

Small turkey breast like this one The Hubs and I cooked last year…

…but, I think I’m going to cook it in the crockpot!

Mac ‘N Cheese and Pillsbury Crescent Dinner Rolls for The Kid and another healthier side dish, possibly this…
Casserole
I’m taking suggestions on side dish options. My mother always makes the most amazing sweet potato casserole, but I want to try something different. What are your favorite Thanksgiving side dishes?

Also, I haven’t quite decided if I want to cook a dessert or buy an already prepared. What dessert do you look forward to each year? I might make this…Pie_copy

In the meantime, my best friend and I are heading to Tulsa this afternoon for this…
Marathon
we’ll be racing this weekend. This is the first time I have participated in this event. It will be my 7th half marathon and I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was super excited about it. I’ve heard such good things about this race, not to mention the fact that the medal is pretty cool…

On a funny side note…I took this picture last night of our precious bull terriers with The Hubs…
Bullies
Normally I don’t condone eating in the bed by anyone, human or canine, but this was too cute! They love apples!
