Leave it be…

That’s the decision that was made at the salon this afternoon. My stylist Kim said, and I agreed, that there is such a faint line of demarcation that letting it grow out without adding more color would be fine for now. On my next visit we may use a temporary color on the lighter ends just to blend things out a bit… which I’m totally fine with.

Here’s me after a wash, cut and straighten…

(This is the ONLY time my hair is ever straight! I ain’t got time for that mess on my own) The gray is not super obvious in the picture, but it is there.

I got into a very interesting, yet typical, conversation with The Hubs last night about this subject while walking the dogs. He asked me, “aren’t you worried about looking old?” My response… “do YOU look old?” The Hubs has been grey/silver for as long as I’ve known him and he has never looked “old”. When we got back to the house I showed him these Google images and asked him “does SHE look old?”

“Does SHE look old?”

…to which The Hubs replies “no”. I then asked him “do you think I’ll look old? Do you think I’ll look like this…”

Such a cute kid’s costume idea as we get closer to Halloween! It reminds me of The Kid’s costume from about 10 years ago…

He came up with that himself!

Anyway, back to my conversation with The Hubs… I told him that a woman looking old simply because of her gray hair is totally a double-standard. When men go gray, they are considered “distinguished”! Here’s how I feel about it…

My next appointment isn’t until after Thanksgiving, so my hair will have about 7 weeks to grow! We’ll see what it looks like then!

Until next time,
Happy Blogging!
