Another week has gone by! The Kid is currently on Fall Break after finishing up his 9 weeks tests. I don’t remember getting a “Fall Break” when I was in school…but that was 20 years ago. Things were A LOT different back then!
What do you have on tap for this weekend? We’re planning to finish up our “Getting Crafty…” projects and hoping take the bull terriers for a walk downtown since the weather is supposed to be nice. It should be a nice, relaxing weekend in our house!
Here is a list of my Favorite things from this week… Continue reading »

Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel… I had high hopes for this product, but in the words of The Kid: “Epic Fail”.
Here is a look at my “Daily Nail Diary” that ended up not being daily…
I applied Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel in “Too Haute” as directed on a Wednesday afternoon…
By late evening, roughly 6 hours after application, my nails looked like this…
…already a small chip. Disappointment.
About 25 hours later, the polish had chipped even more…
Finally, after 5 days, I gave up on my Daily Nail Diary because my nails looked like this…
Here is my final review…
The polish’s claim to fame is that it is supposed to as long as a salon gel manicure, about 2 weeks, at half the cost. It is a three step process (2 coats color, 1 coat special top coat)…no UV light needed. After only a few hours, the color started to chip on my nails and after only 5 days I realized the polish was not going to work for me. However, it was extremely easy to remove (regular remover and a cotton ball) and it didn’t cause my nails to peel like traditional polish. My nails actually appear healthier than they did before I used the product. For that reason, (and because I really like the deep, rich purple of “Too Haute”) I will continue to use Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel.
This was not a paid review… Sally Hansen did not send me products to try. I purchased the color at Walgreens myself using my rewards points and the Top Coat at Walmart (Walgreens was out of the top coat). I’d the company would like to send me other colors to try, I would gladly accept them! 🙂

I love getting Gel manicures. I love how they make my nails look and how long it stays pretty. What I don’t love is how expensive it is!
Lately, I’ve been seeing commercials for a new Sally Hansen product called “Miracle Gel”… it’s much cheaper than a salon manicure (especially if you have reward points to Walgreens) and seemed so easy to apply. You don’t even need the light for it!
I went out today and picked up the color “Too Haute” and the necessary Top Coat…
…and got to painting! I haven’t painted my nails in so long…they tend to peel when I wear polish. Two coats of the color and one coat of the Top Coat and I was done!
I really like this purplish cranberry color! The commercial says it should last 14 days. I will keep a daily photo diary here and on Instagram (click HERE for my feed) to see if it lives up to its claims!
If you try it, let me know how you like it!
I am not in any way being compensated for this post… Sally Hansen has no clue who I am.
Until next time…
Happy Blogging!
