Welcome back for Part 2 of my Ouidad experience!
Oui1
Now that I’ve received the bottle of Ouidad’s Curl Quencher Hydrafusion Intense Curl Cream, it’s time to play with it! It wasn’t until I discovered a better routine did I truly reap the benefits of this product. Here’s what I do every morning…

After the alarm rings at 4:50 am and I hit the snooze button once (yes, that is the truth…I do that EVERY weekday morning), I jump in the shower and get my hair wet. I lather up with one of these two shampoos…
Shampoo
I rotate between the two because it keeps my hair confused. I know that’s a little weird, but trust me, when my hair gets used to a particular shampoo, the formula doesn’t work as well.

I rinse that out completely and put on one of these conditioners…
Conditioner
I rotate these as well for the same reason as the shampoo.

Next up, with the conditioner still on my hair, I wash the rest of me. Once I’m all clean, I rinse out about 80% of the conditioner. As I do this, I’m gradually turning the water to cold. I get it almost too cold to stand, but it seals my hair and really calms down frizz.

Here’s something very important I do… before I do anything else with my hair, before I even get out of the shower, I take one of Rob’s old clean cotton t-shirts and I squeeze (don’t rub) the wetness out of my hair. If I use a regular bath towel or anything like it, MAJOR FRIZZ! Even if I do everything else the same, I get frizz with a normal towel.

Okay, now that a majority of the water is out of my hair, I put 3 to 4 pumps of Ouidad Curl Quencher Hydrafusion Intense Curl Cream in my hands, rub hands together and scrunch throughout my hair, making sure it is distributed evenly. I then take the t-shirt and scrunch some more. After that, I pile my hair on top of my head and wrap the shirt around like a turban. I’m finally ready to get out of the shower.

After I’ve gotten dressed, put in my contacts and covered my face in moisturizer, it’s time to take the shirt off my head and scrunch even more. I use my fingers to part my hair and scrunch again. That’s it!

Notice, a comb or brush or hairdryer never touch my hair. A lot of curly girls like to use hairdryers with diffusers, but if I did that, I would look like I came straight out of the 80’s. I just don’t like the way my hair curls when I use a diffuser, so it’s air dry for me! It obviously takes longer, but my hair is a lot healthier and less frizzy because of it.

What products do you like to use on your curls? Do you have any tips for other curly girls out there?

Until next time…

If you have naturally curly hair like me then you know how difficult it is to find the right combination or products and the right routine to make and keep your curls looking their best…and when you do find a perfect product, it gets discontinued. ARGH!!

For years, I used this…
sunsilk3
…but apparently the company that manufactured it was not the most reputable and now they no longer sell the cream in the U.S. I can find it on Amazon, but it’s EXPENSIVE!!

I’ve tried so many different creams, lotions and gels in the years since that I’m sure I’ve spent half my yearly salary on bottles that always seem to disappoint.

Until this…

I’ve read so many good reviews about Ouidad, but it’s a little on the pricey side and can only be purchased online or at a Sephora/Ulta type store. I had a coupon for Sephora, so I ordered my first bottle of Ouidad’s Curl Quencher Hydrafusion Intense Curl Cream and anxiously awaited its arrival.

After just a few days, I came home for lunch and the Sephora box was on my doorstep!

One thing about Sephora… not only does your package contain the product you ordered, but they also send samples of other things they think you might like. I received a couple different moisturizers and a small container of perfume from Guchi! SCORE!

The next morning, I set out to try the new curl cream. I must say that I loved it instantly! The texture is wonderful and it smells nice, but more importantly… it really brought out the curl in my hair and tamed the frizzies!

Check back tomorrow for Part 2… I’ll tell you how I use this product.

Until next time…
