He said my incisions are healing nicely and all the pain and discomfort I’m still experiencing is normal and should go away within a few weeks/months. He reminded me that even though it was laproscopic surgery, he still rearranged my anatomy…which is MAJOR surgery. He originally wanted me to take a full two weeks off from work to recover, but I didn’t feel like I could (that’s a sad story for another time). He also warned me that I would be very tired and lethargic for a while because my body is using all its energy to heal itself, but I should start to feel better in a couple more weeks. It’s just going to be a very slow recovery.
As far as my diet goes…still on liquids, but I can add in some soft foods. Fortunately, I’m okay with the fluids I’ve been ingesting. In fact, the Creamy Tomato Tortellini Soup I made last night is even creamier and more delicious the second day!
The most exciting thing from my follow up appointment is the fact that I no longer have to take my acid reflux medication…WooHoo!!
